Everything's all good so far!

Well we had our ultrasound yesterday and everything looks perfect. Baby has been developing perfectly and the heart rate was a whopping 175! The u/s tech even pointed out the heartbeat. It was awesome. Also the baby was dancing around so much. I can't believe I can't feel it yet, but I have a feeling this little one will be kicking me up a storm once he/she is big enough to do so. The movement was one of the cutest things I have ever seen! I couldn't help but laugh, and Jeff says the baby's dancing skills is something they got from their father. I can't help but agree. I have no rhythm. Due date is still February 9, 2011 - perfect!

The only bad part about yesterday was that it was the first real bought of morning sickness. I felt so horrible and definitely got pretty sick. It didn't happen today - so here is to hoping that it was a one time thing. I have been nauseous for some time now, but getting physically sick didn't happen until yesterday.

Lastly, we think we decided on names for the baby. It is tentative in case we find something we like better but so far for a girl we have Lillian Johanna (Johanna after my grandmother, her nickname would be Lilly) and Jeffrey Brian Jr. (JJ for short - Jeff Jr.).

My Dad came over yesterday, and he and Jeff were able to give our central air a band-aid fix. it looks like it will last the summer if all goes well. What good news because it has been extra hot out. It is nice to be so cool in the house instead of sweating.

Well that is about all I have now. Time to rest up, I am definitely tired today!

Second Ultrasound Tomorrow - A little Nervous

Our second ultrasound is tomorrow. I think the doctor telling me the heart rate was a little low is sort of wearing down on my emotion. What I read was that a normal heart rate for a 6w0d fetus is 90-110, and my little one was right in there at 106. I think it is a "Cover Your Ass" move, and I am not going to complain about seeing the little one so soon after the first time, but still. At least the apt is at 10 am so I don't have too long to wait.

I am finally getting my thank yous out for the wedding (Almost two months after the wedding, although the book of etiquette says I have three months). That is one thing I like to make fun of me and Jeff for. We are expecting even before we wrote our wedding thank yous or before I got to change my name. My name still isn't changed. Hopefully I can get to the Social Security Office tomorrow and get the ball rolling. I'm still signing my maiden name, and I kind of feel bad. But at this point, I am doing each chore one at a time. First thank yous then name change. I was so tired the past month that getting anything done was nearly impossible. Oh well I will get there.

I think if this Ultrasound goes good, it may be time for the big Facebook reveal. My friends and family have been so good about keeping it off the 'book and I definitely appreciate it. I will update tomorrow when I get some answers and I hope to have a pretty picture to upload!

Well, the central air didn't last long

We actually had two problems with our central air. One we knew we had: the compressor was giving us warm air, which we fixed the other day; and one we thought we had but wasn't 100% sure: the fan is leaking. We informed our a/c guy about the possible leak. His suggestion was to run the system to see if we had the leak, which made sense to us.

[Back story: we bought the house in may of 2009 and did not run the a/c last summer due to it not working and it not being too crazy of a hot summer like this one. When we brought the home inspector in in April 2009, he said it was too cold to test the a/c.. b.s., I know]

Anyway, our system ran, and because the fan part of the a/c system is up in our attic, we were expecting the water to leak through the ceiling of our second floor. Well it never did. We were thrilled... until two nights ago, Jeff went into the garage to a nice sized puddle of water. Great. Now the challenge is to see where the leak is coming from and see if we can fix it without getting a whole new a/c system, which is what we don't want to do at this point. Oh well. Off with the central air for now, until monday when we try to see where the leak is coming from. At least it is only 81 today, the house won't get beyond 95, which is what happened last week.

I am Pregnant

I am pregnant.

Here's the back story.

My husband Jeff and I got married May 15, 2010. We were expecting by May 18th due to a very late ovulation, and we could not be more blessed (or surprised). I wanted to start a journal to start writing down my thoughts during this time. I've gotten this suggestion more than once by more than one person so I thought, "why not?"

Let's start with the weather. This weather is outrageous. Let me tell you. In the daytime it has been 100+ degrees. For the past three nights it has been so hot. Last night was the worst. Our central air has been broken since we bought our house, but we do have one window unit in the bedroom, and we have been using this as we sleep. Last night I was awaken to the sound of the electricity going out, which meant my window unit also out. The room got hot quick and I had to open a window and bring our two dogs to the basement where it is just a tad cooler. Finally the air went back on around 12:30 and I was able to retrieve the dogs and go back to sleep.

I was so tired this morning due to the outage, and as I went out the door noticed that an animal had dug through our trash bag and i had to clean up the mess. Of course, and if my morning couldn't get any worse, I missed the bus to work!

The highlight of my day was the fact that we were able to get a family friend in to take a look at our central air conditioning, and got it to work! No more 95+ degree house (seriously!).

Now on to baby news. Right now I am only 9 weeks. I got an ultrasound at 6 weeks to date the pregnancy (re: late ovulation). I had my second OB apt this afternoon and I am too early for her to really do much. I asked her what the Heart Rate of the baby was at the 6-week ultrasound and she said 106. She thought that was a little low and is sending me back for a follow-up ultrasound. I am crossing my fingers for a good ultrasound whenever I get to schedule it.
